Skinkers provides desktop-based news and programme alert service for CNN International
The desktop-based service will alert CNN International's audience of forthcoming CNN programmes as well as delivering breaking news updates directly on the computer screen without relying on email technology. A unique feature of the service is the facility for the user to select the region for which they would like the programme alerts in local time among: EMEA, Latin America and North America; Japan, South Asia and Asia Pacific.
The technology behind the alerts is known as a "Skinker" and can be downloaded free of charge from CNN's international website located at http://edition.cnn.com/services/newsalert
Matteo Berlucchi, CEO of Skinkers commented: "We are very excited that CNN are using the breadth of Skinkers technological capability. It's the first time our desktop news alert had been used to target a truly global audience but at the same time allowing regional content to be delivered to the users' computer screen."
Nick Wrenn, Managing Editor of CNN International, said, "The new desktop alert will enhance our online offering to users, which includes streaming news, video on demand, alerts and newsletters."
Skinkers CNN Alerts available for free at http://edition.cnn.com/services/newsalert.
