Download dog rocks awards

Clear Channel's download dog has picked up Best Entertainment Award at the Interactive Marketing and Advertising Awards held in London on the 9th November.

18 November 2004

Developed and animated by Skinkers, the dog was installed by over 45,000 rock fans who received exclusive content and news on the 60,000 capacity Download Festival held at Donnington Park during the Summer. Headliners this year included Metallica, Linkin Park, Iggy Pop and The Hives.

The campaign was chosen out of 300 entries and in the shortlist beat off stiff competition from marketing campaigns by Twentieth Century Fox and Sony to win the category.

The awards celebrated the very best of interactive marketing and its role in the marketing mix. The judges agreed that Download Dog was "perfect for its target audience. It created a community around an event with an innovative, interactive and successful device".

Mark Yovich – Director of New Media at Clear Channel commented: "It is great to be recognised in this field and a testament to the hard work of a dedicated team of enthusiastic people and great technology from Skinkers. It also helps to further position this event as the leading music festival of its kind and one that engages with its fans in innovative and interactive ways."
