Skinkers Desktop Alerts now available on Salesforce.com’s AppExchange

Skinkers, the leader in direct-to-desktop technology and salesforce.com [NYSE: CRM], the market and technology leader in on-demand business services, today announced that Skinkers Desktop Alerts for Salesforce, is now available on salesforce.com's AppExchange. Skinkers award winning technology pushes the most important information in a customer’s Salesforce application directly to the desktop*, allowing users to monitor, track and stay in control of priority sales activities.
Skinkers Desktop Alerts for Salesforce is now available for test drive and deployment at http://www.salesforce.com/appexchange. Applications available via the AppExchange directory are built using Apex, the world’s first on-demand platform. Skinkers Desktop Alerts for Salesforce, available free of charge, has a number of useful functions designed to improve the interaction with Salesforce:
- Fast access to Salesforce: users can automatically login to their Salesforce account by either clicking on the Salesforce logo within the application or by double clicking on the system tray without having to re-type their credentials every time.
- Salesforce updates: Skinkers Desktop Alerts includes a desktop ticker tape allowing users to see their chosen updates from their salesforce.com account.
- Fast search salesforce.com: the ticker tape includes a search box allowing the user to run searches on salesforce.com without having to login.
- Built-in news reader: users can drag and drop any news feed (RSS) from their favourite websites onto the Skinkers Desktop Alert to have news updates pushed to them and displayed directly on their desktop via a state-of-art ticker tape, a compact news reader or even keyword based desktop.

The Apex platform, formerly known as the AppExchange platform, is available today. As previously announced, the next release of the Apex platform is currently scheduled to be available in conjunction with the release of Winter 07, and the Apex programming language is currently scheduled to be available during the first half of 2007.
