Delivering ShouldKnow information through the Live Notification Platform
It is increasingly difficult to reach audiences effectively through existing digital channels. Skinkers Live Notification Platform integrates existing channels, and augments them with high impact desktop and handheld channels (such as the BlackBerry), to provide a single enterprise communication management platform for the delivery of ShouldKnow information.

ShouldKnow information
ShouldKnow information is priority information that is time or event dependant and important to your audience, for example corporate, compliance and audit related communications, breaking news, offers and promotions, service outages, etc.

Examples of ShouldKnow information:

  • Email down: informing employees within a certain part of the business that the email system has gone down.
  • Compliance notification to internal sales teams.
  • Audited communication of new company policies.
  • Flight cancellation: informing all passengers on a particular flight that it has been cancelled, ensuring this information is received at least 6 hours before the scheduled flight departure.
  • Account overdrawn: informing a customer when their bank account is overdrawn.
  • New product launch: informing priority customers that a new product is now available to buy online.
  • Football update: informing Manchester United football fans that a video of the FA Cup final is available to view online.
  • Intranet update: informing employees when new information is posted on the corporate intranet.
  • CEO presentation: sending all employees a video clip of the CEO presenting the quarterly results.

Skinkers Live Notification Platform
The original Skinkers communication platform was first released in 2002. Over the last five years we have found a common need emerging: the ability to deliver ShouldKnow information in a high impact way.

By utilising the best features of existing communication channels and developing new ones, Skinkers Live Notification Platform ensures “cannot miss” communication is delivered to the most appropriate device (computer, handheld or mobile phone) of the user.

Skinkers Live Notification Platform is an end to end, enterprise communication management platform that ensures the collection, processing, delivery and tracking of ShouldKnow information to your audience (customers, employees and partners).

Collection
ShouldKnow information can either be collected from automatically or manually created content. Automatically initiated content can come from any source that can instigate an electronic transaction, for example an ERP system or a payroll system.

Processing
After the message contents are created the message is targeted to its intended audiences. The process of targeting a message normally involves (but is not limited to) querying active directory (AD) using lightweight active directory access protocol (LDAP) to get a listing of the users.

Delivery
Skinkers Live Notification Platform will route the message to the appropriate device. The device preferences can be set by the user, but in the case of internal audience applications the business can override the preferences for emergency communications.

Tracking
Skinkers Live Notification Platform provides full tracking data and user statistics with audited responses of who saw what and on which device.
